Many people have claimed to be Jesus

We discarded them all
we are still waiting for real Jesus

IS IT possible that in the process of discarding fake Christ, we also discarded the true Christ

If Jesus were to come again, we may reject him and accuse him of being possessed or mad.

William Hush(1992), a Psychiatrist who has treated a number of mentally abnormal persons claimed Jesus was Paranoid. He is not the first person to do so. The sanity of Jesus has been questioned begining from the biblical times (Mark 3: 21, John 7: 20)

Numerous Psychiatrist have linked Jesus to showing traits of grandiosity,an inflated sence of his own power as well as difficulty communicating with others. Multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia, Hyperreligiosity, paranoia, suicide by proxy, schizoaffective disorder etc have been attributed to the founder of Christianity.

A more recent study(2012) by a group of neurologist, Psychiatrist, psychologist,and behavioral scientist From Havard medical school claimed that major biblical characters like Moses,Paul and Jesus all testsd positive to mental disorder from the DSM IV.

None of these scientist withnesed the reign of Jesus and hence diagnosed based on interpretation of scriptural writing. It is not impossible to rule out a misdiagnosis .

If biblical figures were to come back again and repeat the same actions as written in the Bible, we may be guilty of similar diagnosis. Take for instance, a man chasing grasshopper and bees in the forest asks to pour water on your head is likely to be called a lunatic but the Bible tells us John the Baptist fed on locust and honey in the bush. He baptised the people.

Or Abraham who heard a noise and left his home to an unknown destination. That would be considered abnormal In this modern society.

Sometimes we are quick to slam a label on people for behaving different or having different thoughts from the majority. Yet we forget that our sacred scripture contains saints who exhibited the same traits . Sometimes, we begin to find excuses for our saints.

If only we can stop trying to fix people in a box and stop trying to expect everyone to conform, think or behave the same way. If only we can amsee individual difference as something positive,. We may begin to appreciate the beauty in abnormality.

Why Are The Clerics Absent?

The end SARS protest has taken many by surprise. Before now, soccer used to be the only force that unite the world. Protest has broken that jinx as it has brought both both male and female together. The feeling of interconnectedness is visible for everyone to see .

Protest shows a side United for a change. Every Religion promotes unity. The Bible tells us that where two or more are gathered in God’s name,God is in their midst . Youth are United from different works of life to share their fears and concerned. They are gathered against injustice.

lamenting gives the victim a chance to heal. True forgiveness occur when one vents out his true feeling towards the other. This is a step towards reconcilation. protesters are laughing as they walk displaying funny messages on their placards.

The clamour shows strangers feeding each other the way Jesus fed the five thousand. The free medical services given to the injured is a practical illustration of Jesus parable of the good Samaritan. The act of offering ones bedspread to strangers lying outside to cover them from adverse weather conditions is a true act of kindness promoted in all religion.

Few years ago over a thousand Ministers from various religion tradition in India matched to denounce the social ills in the country . The protest included Christian, Jewish and Muslim clergies. Bishops took active part in the current black lives movement in America. what prevents our clergy from participating actively? .

When Shite top leader was detained by Federal Government, the regional leaders led the people to a violent protest. When Catholic priest was abducted in benue state, the bishops led the people to a peaceful protest. In these protests, the youth played an active role . Today, the youth are protesting against police brutality, the clergy are not physically active. The youth could interpret this as clergy protest only when one of them is personally hurt. Until SARS brutalised one of them , they will remain silent. The youth should not perceive clergy as selfish preachers who act only when they are hurt. This could mark the begining of lack of trust towards the duo. The revolution now now protest by Sowore received a poor turn out simple because he was a politician and the people do not trust politicians. Religion continues to thrive in the country because of the perceived trust the people have in the Men of God. This trust has been declining gradually in recent times especially since clergy began to mingle in politics . The politicians are currently alledged to be opposing the protest behind while singing their support publicly. They are accused of sponsoring hoodlums to stop the protest. They have been suspected to have a hand in calling threatening protesters to back off. Are the clergy receiving the same threat?

It is in trying moment one knows his true friends.The clerics need to take a stand. Are they in support of the top government officials and politicians whose financial assistance sustain the church ? Would they side with the youth who participate actively in God’s house. In the fight against oppression,the silent one sides with the oppressor .A one hour presence on the street is all the youth need youth people need . The presence of a spiritual leader can help steer the protest toward a more peaceful and Godly manner.

God sent pastors and self-sent pastor

Every week , many  new churches apply  to the Cooperate Affair Commission (CAC) requesting to be registered. Many letters are rejected for repitition of names. A report by       reveals that the number of churches are over.       . Every founder claims the holy spirit  sent him to create a new church.  Surely, God cannot be the author of confusion. Some of these founders are personally motivated. How then can we differentiate the genuine God sent founders from  the self- sent ones . Three major ways of identifying self sent founders are

Fame : self sent founders love to be the center of attention. They would do anything to be popular .He hardly allows assistant pastor to preach cutting him off from members so he does not take outshine him. The little time he preaches,he must mention pastors name so many times so pastor does not feel jealous. Such pastor will empty the church finance to pay television station to show their service. They can pay actors to stage miracles to increase their popularity. They speak eloquently. . After Jesus healed a man, he said ” tell no one,”. His desire to eradicate the suffering of the man was Paramount not Fame Our glory searching pastors would announce a miracle before performing one. He would find it difficult to minister before a small group of listeners. Qualiity of members mattered more than quality.They can ordain any person a pastor as long as he can bring more members. Jesus would leave ninety nine in search of one lost sheep. Fame founders would leave one in search of ninety nine. He spends more time building his influence.Their mission is to build and their branches through each street . There is nothing wrong for one to desire to be famous but there is something wrong if one pursues Fame and recognition at the detriment of God’s word

Power: Some pastors leave their previous church over disagreement on certain issues. They wanted things to go a certain way. The senior pastor rejected and they angrily left to form their own church where they would be the one taking decision. These want to be in charge of every decision making process. They appoint the choir leader, welfare head,drama coordinator etc. They will tell the leader the song to sing . Whoever disagrees with him is removed and replaced with a O-Yes members who agrees to all he says .. Questioning them is the same as challenging their a ithority .

They hardly take correction.Criticise their action and they curse you and your generation. Insult them and get beaten .They are easily identified by their tendency to shout while preaching despite the numerous microphone and loudspeaker. They love to issue command..They are annoited and you are not and that makes them superior to you.They can be proud ,pumpous and boastful.. Their favorite Bible verses are Touch not my annoited and do my prophet no harm and The kingdom of God suffereth violence…….taketh it by force. The first verse prevents you from criticizing him while the later gives him licence to be violent.

G byreed : These pastors have withnessed the influx of money from local various parishes to headquarters and desire to own the money. They left the previous church over money issue. Deny him access to church fund and watch him abscond to build his own.They see church as fastest means of generating fund. Their sermon focuses more on giving even when topic has nothing to do with money. Meet him for marital counseling and he mention tithing as condition for blissful marriage. They are the prosperity preachers. They need you to prosper so you can donate more to the church. The church has an open door policy. There are less laws on dresscode and less emphasis on morals . Pastor hardly preaches hell. He knows that such would make members sad and scare them away . Rather, positive messages are preached. There are lots of singing and dancing to make members happy.They invite comedians, non – gospel artist to perform on the alter. Happy people are more likely to donate more. Do not be surprised to see POS machine and ATM machine inside the church. You have no excuse not to give. Everything is permissible provided their finance is not meddled with. They install camera at the room where money is counted to ensure no one takes from the money. He does not trust his own officials in money matters.They are the ones kicking against the CAMA law. Using the generatee fund for the things of the church is acceptable. These pastors use money to make more money. You will be surprised to here they own estates, lands, and other non gospel related buisnesses. I heard of a pastor who co- owns a construction company and lobby’s for government contract .

These kind of pastors are externally motivated. They use the church as a means to get what they want. The quest for Fame ,power and wealth supercededs all. They can misinterpreted the scripture and bend rules to achieve such craving. How do we identify the general overseer that was sent by God?

The first way to do this is by listening to his words. God calls for a reason . He calls to deliver a message. He sentMoses to tell pharoah to “let my people go “. The miracles he performed were secondary. He sent to teach the laws which did not exist at that time.Jesus was sent to preach the message of salvation to the people. He taught love and forgiveness different from vengeance which the pharasees were known for.To identify a God sent, compare his message with that of his predecessor . The greater the difference, the more you can be sure he is sent by God.God sent founders have a unique message or doctrine that stands them apart from the rest. If there is no difference,that is a red flag.

We can guage the zeal to spread the message. God-sent pastors move from one place to another. They are on the look out for people who are yet to receive the message. They teach the people for some time and leave to teach another group. They are like doctors searching for patients.They do not wait for members to seek them . They understand that whoever consciously seek the church is half saved. They go for those that are not in church .They are missionaries. Missionaries do not stay in a place forever. Does your general overseer still engage in street evangelism? Does he assign the task to members? Is he too big and busy for that? How often does your general overseer go to the northern part of the country. Are they scared of getting killed. Would he rather build a fifty thousand capacity auditorium in the south where Christianity is the dominant religion.

God-sent pastors are willing to thrive despite opposition. They do not succomb to the risk. They are willing to die in other to spread the message. Moses was a wanted man after killing the Egyptian, yet he courageously walked up to him to deliver the message. Jesus knew he would be killed. He persistently spread the good news. The early left their comfortable homes to a poor continent -Africa to spread the message. These missionaries died of mosquitoes. More missionaries trooped in. The urge to spread the message is stronger than their love for their own life. Can your General Overseer live in the North with for five years in other to strengthen the faith of Christians there? Can he die for the message?

There is absolutely nothing wrong for one to decide to build his own church. It is a free world. What is wrong is telling members that you are God sent. That is deceit. Lying in the name of God should be discouraged

Challenges of getting married to a strict born again Christian

They can be boring. No room for fun Always serious face. Hardly play with family

They do not know how to handle women . Most strict pastors spent their youthful days avoiding dating and friendships with ladies in general so as not to commit adultery.

They are fault finders . They go about looking for offence. Every thing is a sin.

They are not romantic They grew up avoiding ladies. They are not used to giving hugs and kisses. They only know one position. Anal sex is a sin. Only accepts style is missionary. The mouth is for praising God name and not oral.

They can be routinal .. They have a structured life style. Easily predictable. Wife feel bored.

Lack of emotional intimacy. Wife is emotionally starved. His priorities are in the things of the lord. Time for heart to heart discussion and he is quoting Bible.

christians should mix with devil

Christians have a way ofJesufyingeverything that we’re involved in, so that it all sounds a bit more spiritual, appears more God-honoring, and generally makes us feel a whole lot holier, as we walk through the “sinful” world around us.
As a result, we who call The Church home, now regularly indulge in:
Christian music
Christian movies
Christian newspapers

Christian, if lots of your friends are Christians, be concerned.
Ifallof your friends are Christians, repent

In fact, many followers of Jesus have so effectively partitioned-off their lives, that we can do almost anything on a given day, without bumping up against, or being contaminated by, the scary “non-Christian” world in any significant way.

No, you see, so many people, areout there(beyond yourJesufiedworld), waiting for you to enter their space, and show them this Jesus who supposedly is worth giving-up everything for, in real-time.
And you’ll never do that if you see them as sick or dirty, and you’ll never do that if you live in a sealed religious bubble, and you’ll never do that if you feel that all the stuff they love is corrupt and evil.
So this week, as you go through the movements that make up yourordinary, look for ways in which you can actually live life,aroundandwithpeople who believe differently than you do.
Do business with those who don’t share your faith. Let them see the difference it makes in your life, as you buy and sell and negotiate and deal.
Forge friendships with coworkers and neighbors, who don’t knowCorinthians

Listen to some good ‘ol “devil music”,

Living a life on mission, isn’t about avoiding bad things through cultural abstinence, as much as it is about redeeming people through transcending love.
Christian, you want to do something really beautiful for the world? Stop segregating yourself from it.
StopJesufyingyour life, and start living your life,likeJesus; unapologetically with those who need to experience him the most.
